Earth is continuing changing as are the living who live on the earth. The better the people
on the earth do the better the earth is. God allows us to work with our resources as he
puts us in charge of what we will do with them. I remember notable people in history who
walked thru many challenges to get a job done. One of them was a man named Vernon
Johns who was a teacher if you will or trainer for Martin Luther King as well as many others. He was a teacher and as we know a teacher will always be a teacher. Some
times teachers have to preach to get others to listen to them. Vernon Johns was a man
who loved freedom and pursuit of happiness as one explored opportunity.
I for one among others know that God called teachers face conflict from learners who
do not want to learn and people who fight against against good teachers. Remember,
Jesus was a teacher.
Well, I am polka dotted and getting older is reminding me of when I was a kid and
"Freckles".
Well, for a few years I was really enjoying being a teacher on a regular schedule and then
one day wham oh some non-teachers decided they knew more than I did and
started a false rebellion against me. Since, only a few good men stood up it became too
hard and I lost the battle. History has shown us that many have lost more than a job
at the hands of the enemy. The enemy does not come from the good side.
There is always a place for a teacher because there are always people who want to
learn. The people during the civil war taught and learned many lessons. One of my
grandfathers "William Vanna Sims" lost his life raising the flag for the UNITED STATES
of America.
He had gone home and found out his wife had died so he had gone back to the war..
.Another grand father "Guilford Dudley Sims" tended to the wounds of many people.
Another grandfather "Guilford Dudley Sims" just locked the doors of his newspaper
called "The Dresden Democrat" and came to Texas. When the time was right his
family including my grandmother came too. People in those days took what they had
when they had it and did the best they could much like we do today. We are THE
UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and not another country.
Our faith is in GOD and our people and our earth. The earth was here before we
were and the earth does not owe us anything. GOD MADE IT ALL AND US TOO.
It is good that we learn from our mistakes and take better care of ourselves and the
earth and each other. I have Terrells and Hughes in my family in history and I
remember a story about a man being after a man during the civil war and a man
hid the man under a pile of leaves as he was raking leaves. One of the Terrells had
a pretty big house and they feed and doctored and helped soldiers from both sides of
the war with no interference but once the soldiers left their land it was war again but
there was such respect that one one was hurt on the land.
So, kids start searching and reading about history as there are many lessons to be
learned and do not waste your time on those who rebel against teaching and learning.
I would still be teaching on a regular schedule if those who wanted my job had not
pushed me out much like those who want a country or a family or a member of a family
do something wrong to take it. Soldiers of many generations have fought side by
side to make our country grow and stay alive.
I will never be able to understand the lack of appreciation for GOD'S
CREATIONS. When I was a kid I seriously thought it would be better to be any
solid color as long as it was not polka dotted. I did not know the difference in going in
and out of the front door or the back door because when grandpa or any adult hollered
"Suckey" come here "I had better come running the shortest straight line I could. NOW,
I love the fact that I was polka dotted because actually it is the best UNITED STATES
of AMERICA color. Only one person a boy named Jimmy that I met had more
freckles than I did. Now, I think his freckles are quite handsome.
